DESCRIPTION : The new life of a wine storehouse in the heart of the Touraine vineyards
This former wine storehouse, partly abandoned, was renovated in 2015. At the heart of this cathedral-like volume, the architect imagined a comfortable, luminous home in a reinvented country spirit. A large bay window, a monumental staircase, a dizzying ceiling, skylights bathed in light and a walkway all sit side by side with century-old stone.
Le Gué au Loup is a house full of surprises, much appreciated by young and old alike.
In terms of decoration, sobriety is the order of the day: the color of the walls is neutral or powdered, warmed by touches of wood, where rustic and contemporary styles blend happily together.
The bright, spacious house includes:
Ground floor: 1 large open-plan living/dining room, kitchen (approx. 45 m2), 1 bedroom (bed 160 X 200), 1 shower room, 1 separate toilet, 1 laundry room.

In the living room, enhanced by a large open fireplace, there's a mix of styles and eras, with an old family farm table combined with mismatched contemporary wooden or metal chairs, soft armchairs and sofas, a huge bay window and a roof window;

The kitchen, which opens onto the dining room, has been designed to make this a perfectly equipped, convivial space. In addition to a wide choice of crockery, utensils and small appliances (toaster, traditional and Nespresso coffee machines, kettle, multi-function food processor, etc.), it also features a cooker with hood, 1 microwave, 1 dishwasher, 1 fridge/freezer;

One bedroom is on the ground floor (160×200 bed), near a shower room with walk-in shower, separate toilet and laundry room;
A monumental metal staircase leads to a half-level with a first bathroom. Taking advantage of the high ceilings, a walkway leads to the master suite and two other bedrooms, as well as 1 separate toilet.

The master suite occupies the entire width of the building, under the interlocking oak beams that bear witness to the past. The suite features a magnificent 160×200 four-poster bed, a bathroom corner and a small office for telecommuting if required;

Guests benefit from a smart television (37' flat screen), DVD player, wide selection of children's books, board games, guides to the region, HIFI system, free wifi, tennis and ping pong rackets (tables in the adjacent park), household and bathroom linen provided (one towel per person), kitchen kit (salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, washing-up liquid, etc.), raclette machine, a desk in one of the rooms facilitates teleworking.
A BREATH OF FRESH AIR
Facing due south, the main facade, on which the vines flourish, is furnished with a terrace and a pergola for shady meals.

Possibility of renting bikes to discover the surrounding area while limiting carbon emissions, a bike route is located along the Cher Valley, from Monthou to Chenonceau, price: weekend: €20 per bike, week: €25 per bike.

Note : a second cottage is nearby, each cottage is totally independent and has its own private access and outdoor space.

The cost of your stay includes : Reception on arrival, linen supplies (bed sheets, bath sheets), bed-making, heating, water, electricity, garden maintenance, housekeeping at the end of your stay (you are responsible for the small cleaning) and the inventory of fixtures on departure.
